Everything starts somewhere
August 11, 2008I want to announce the start of EdmontonOnRails. EdmontonOnRails will be focused on increasing Rails usage in our .Net dominated city, and allowing Rails developers to build a better network amongst themselves.
So to to get things going we need to get a list of the Rails developers, hobbyists or anyone else that wants to learn it, that are currently living in Edmonton. Once we know what the counts are we will have a better idea where to take things. Below is a list of what we are hoping for.
-
Rails Basics Learning Sessions
Introduce the Rails framework to anyone that is either completely new to the framework, or something who is just getting started.
-
Showcase Projects
Give developers a chance to show off what they are working on or a project that has recently been released.
-
Network with other Rails developers
Allow people to meet others with similar tastes in development. With any luck maybe some startups can be created.
If you are interested in getting a small Edmonton Rails community started, email me, including where your current skill level is and any other info you feel is relevant ex. blog, current work.
